can't change the setting of voice time telling

I want to set up the function of voice time telling, but after I changed the original setting and checked finish, it will pop up a window tell me "system preference setting error". It only set up as original setting, and I didn't what language is tell, it's a weird man voice.

Always says: Voices aren't available to download at this time, try again later. Every time I deleted all the downloaded voices, the system voice in the time and dates switch to the one I believe is Daniel, which has already been deleted. But the voice in Speech is still Siri female, and cannot be deleted along with the Siri male by untick the box. Is there a way for me to reset all the voices and re-download them? Unable to download new available voices in Sys Prefs Apple routinely offers new downloadable voices for Sys Prefs - to announce the time, for example, and for other purposes. I believe Monterey offers at least three new voices - two Finnish - Suvi & Topi and the Chinese voice, Yu-Shu. These are listed as available in Sys Prefs/ Dock & Menu Bar / Clock. But when selected, all three say, "Will be downloaded," but never download. I could use these in my teaching. Interestingly, forty-six nationalized Siri Voices are also selectable, but none of these download, either. This problem existed before Monterey. Any thoughts, or an avenue to let Apple know about this? Thanks much! Rick

Can't change System Voice for accessibility options or announce time. Has anyone found a workaround for when the Accessibility voice and/or System voice is stuck? Mine is on "Alex" which is alright, but I'm trying to change it to a higher khZ range so I can hear it better, and I just get the message that the voice "failed to download," or if I'm trying to change it via the Announce the Time option in the Clock settings, "Preferences Error: There was an error in Dock & Menu Bar preferences." When I deleted the Alex download, thinking it'd have to revert to the System Voice I set, it just didn't use any voice at all. Every time I've tried to fix this, my WiFi's been on, I've restarted my computer, system preferences, and tried it both before and after the most recent software update. Doesn't have any forum results on here either. Anyone have the same thing happen to them?

Hello there!

It sounds like you are having issues with your Mac announcing the time. Let’s look into this together.

To confirm, are you enabling this setting under System Preferences > Dock & Menu Bar > Clock > Announce the time or are you trying to enable another setting?

Let’s also ensure your Mac is fully updated as well.
