Can't turn off email notifcations MacOS 12.1

I used to use De Not Disturb all the time. Now I've tried everything to turn off notifications for email, and I am still getting dings for every message. Very annoying. iPhone Do Not Disturb function easy to control. MacBook not at all. What am I dong wrong? Thanks.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2
