Command A will select all— then use the delete key
Select one, move down the list hold the Shift key before selecting the next one and everything in between will be highlighted—hit he delete key.

If you simply restored then fro a TimeMachine backup—they will still be on the backup.

The best way to do this use any email client like outlook, thunderbird, etc, and then export your email data in any format and then save it to your local computer. You can also use Yahoo Mail Backup for Mac Tool to create a backup of your yahoo mail account.
