Video Capture for Mac

I followed directions on the pack. There are 4 steps. I tried using different cords incase it was faulty. I did this numerous times. The sound worked briefly a couple of times but no sign of the image coming through. I can see and hear the tapes when I play them on my TV, just not my laptop.

I emailed Elgato for help but as yet still not received a response.

Prior to purchasing the Elgato, I asked Apple to recommend a product to digitise my VHS tapes and I was advised to google it. The product would tell me if it is compatible.

Just seems like there is no real customer service anymore.

I’ve returned the Elgato Video Capture - don’t know if it was faulty or my computer has an issue. BTW my computer is new - couple of months old.

I have been to numerous technical shops and am still non the wiser, even those that repair apple computers have let me walk out the door without an answer, but a suggestion that I have someone professionally do it for me!

Well, I guess it is back to my original question.

Can anyone recommend a Video Capture Application/device to use with my MacBook Pro M1.

I can’t even get the VHS tapes to play on my laptop, let alone worry about how to record my screen!

Is this an automated answer as I am certain you have misunderstood what I am asking.

Thanks dperry112. But, what does that mean, the device will not work with Apple Silicon?

How did you manage to get an answer? I am still waiting to hear back from them.
