Apple iPhone 13 pro max charger

The charger that came with my 13 pro max is out. The cord is good but charger is out. I know this because I used my cord on my girlfriends 13 pro max a it works perfectly. So i don’t have a usb charger from Apple, Verizon I just a have a regular usb charger that I purchased from convenience store. If I use the charger will it harm my 13 pro max or do I need to go to Apple or Verizon and get a specific charger just designed for 13 pro max. I want to use the regular 110-220v 5V-1A charger that I purchased from store but don’t want to harm my iPhone. Appreciate you helping me! Thank you? Tim

The "charger" is in the phone itself.

The adapter is simply a source of power.

Any certified USB source over 5 Watts will charge it but fast charging requires 20 Watts or more,

You can use a 150 Watt USB-C macbook brick, the phone will not take more current than it needs .

An iPhone 13 Pro Max won't come with a power adapter. Apple has opted to not package one, in line with what many mobile device manufacturers are doing these days to try to reduce electronic waste given that many already have them.

I wouldn't specifically worry about using a well made power adapter. I know some insist that it should be an Apple one or MFi approved, but for the most part there's nothing special about that. I would question about whether or not one you would find at a convenience store is of sufficient quality. But there's nothing specifically wrong with any particular USB-A power adapter. In the end it's just supposed to be a 5V power source that's well regulated and may have a current limit.

I've never really heard of a particular power adapter harming an iPhone although it could happen if it's junk and the output voltage is way more than the required 5V. The big problem would be non-Apple or non-MFi Lightning cables. I haven't found one that worked reliably long term.
