Epson ET-2820 connectivity issue with 2021 iMac

Hi - I just purchased a ET 2820 and on my second attempt to print something using my iMac the Mac is unable to locate the printer. There is good connectivity and the Wi-Fi signal is very strong. Can you advise if this is a known driver issue with Epson printers?

im on the latest OS and all updates have been installed. The printer is right out of the box brand new.

I just installed a ET-2803, so here are the steps I used.

First turn off MAC Address Filtering on the router

Next, turn on SSID broadcast for the 2.4 GHz band.

Put ink into the printer, and paper.

Download the Epson software from the Epson Web Site.

It should find the printer, charge the ink, and let you set up the SSID and password.

Now print a Network Status page, using the keypad on the front of the printer.

This should have the printers MAC Address at the bottom.

Add this MAC address to MAC Address Filtering, and turn on.

Turn off SSID broadcast

Now go to DHCP reservation, and put in a Reserved DHCP address for the printer, using its MAC Address.

This will give the printer the SAME DHCP address every time it requests one.

Restart printer and computer

I also suggest turning on "Quiet Mode" on the printer front keypad, this may allow it to last longer, less wear on the printhead

The MAC Address filtering and Disabling the SSID broadcast are just extra security I enabled on my router.

You can ignore those parts…

Lets first check to see if you printer is on the network.

On the front of the printer is a small screen and some buttons.

Scroll until you see “Settings”

Push the “OK” button

”Maintenance” will appear…

Go to the third screen, “Network Settings”

Push “OK”

”WiFi Setup” will appear

Scroll to the third screen “Connection Check”,

Push “OK”

The upper right button is “Yes”

Confirm you are connected to the WiFi network.

Push the Go Back button, two arrows.

Now print the first screen under “WiFI Setup”, “Network Status”

Confirm you are pulling an IP address from the router, on the first page.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me. But I’ve done all of that and even run a network diagnostics.

the issue is not with the printer not being on the network but rather the Mac not being able to detect the printer.

I even downloaded the Epson printer set up app and even that was unable to detect the printer which was placed literally next to my Mac and on the same network,

I’ve seen a lot of people complain about issues on connectivity with the new M1 Mac and Epson. Even the Epson website does not have additional drivers for Monterey
