logitech K380 keyboard 'wrong' & missed characters

'Normally', my K380 keyboard works 'fine'. It seamlessly pairs with my MacBook Pro (Mojave) and works, most of the time. But in the last few months, almost like there is a ghost in the machine... I'll bring home my MacBook Pro and suddenly... the K380 won't type the letter 'h' for example... then, I can't hold the shift key down and do a capital 'P'... just 'bizarre' erratic behaviour like this... sometime it will 'double' type the letter 'w'.... I can't fathom it.

I've pulled my hair out trying to fix it. 'Resetting' the keyboard for example. Unpairing and re-pairing... I've even completely reset the bluetooth preferences in the Mac and through debug, completely remove all bluetooth devices... rebooted... etc, etc, etc.... 'nothing' seems to work...

Then, all of a sudden... as strangely as the problem started.... it's gone!!! The keyboard 'works' again.... I can suddenly type 'all' of the letters without issue.

This kind of intermittent problem has me questioning my sanity... it doesn't make sense. It appears to be completely 'random'. It happened a few weeks ago, and then went away... it's back, today... I don't believe there is anything 'new' in the bluetooth spectrum around home...

I can't work out what the issue is, nor how to fix it when it happens..... it comes and goes like this... anybody else had this problem? Any suggested solutions?

Hi BangerT,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We see you've been running into some intermittent issues with a Logitech keyboard and your Mac. We'll be happy to offer our assistance.

You mentioned this seems to be intermittent. Does it only occur every few weeks? It may be hard to narrow down an issue like this if it's only happening every few weeks, but you may want to try testing the keyboard with another device as a start if possible.

Also, have you noticed if it happens with any specific apps? That would be a good piece of information to further narrow this down.

As another possibility, you could try setting up a temporary administrator account on the Mac to see if it happens there. Knowing whether it does would determine if the issue is system-wide or user account-specific, which is helpful in troubleshooting: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac

Keep us posted on the issue.

Have a good day.
