What about catalan dictionary in Pages

Hi,

Happy new year 2022.

What about adding the catalan dictionary in Pages ? Now time it's a MUST have to be able to switch from one or other languages having the corrector helping us.

So how to add the Catalan to my Pages and Numbers and Keynote Apps.

Regards.

Just to add… LibreOffice 7.2.4 Writer, on its Tools menu > Language > More Dictionaries online… has a Catalan spell checker that can be installed from that Extensions: Dictionary panel, or from the supporting website. It may or may not work with the mentioned version of LO 7.2.4, and may or may not be adaptable to Pages as a spell checker.

Have you chosen Catalan as a language in System Preferences > Language & Region?

You could also achieve this by choosing Catalan in System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources. This automatically adds Catalan as a language choice as above.

Also put a tick i the box saying 'Show input menu in menu bar'. From that menu bar item you can toggle between Catalan and English keyboard - and whatever else you choose. Bear in mind though that some keys may behave differently - you'll have to experiment with that yourself.

Now when you choose Catalan from the menu bar you will be typing in Catalan and can double click on a word, right click and find the definition and spelling.

I can't verify however if this will also work as an autocorrect tool. Try it and let us know.

Does this really work for you on your machine? As far as I know, Apple has never provided either a reference dictionary or a spellcheck dictionary for Catalan, so normally everyone has to download something from a 3rd party.
