Gave my older apple watch to a friend in a different state. Forgot to unlock it by my phone first. Is there a way she can set up the watch without it being next to my phone now? I did give her my apple id info to synch it to her phone. But not sure?

You need to unpair and erase the watch and remove the activation lock,you don't need the phone,that link tells you how to do it and until you do she can't use the watch.
And it makes no difference where she is whether it's another state or another planet.
thank you i read all of that first. The problem is she has my watch in a diff state- away from my phone. I am asking if there is a way to not lose my info so she can set the watch up.
