Monterey Compatibility Problem between Mac Mini (2018) and LG Ultrafine Monitor (22" IPS LED)
- After installing Monterey on my Mac Mini (2018), two problems are plaguing my previously perfectly compatible LG display [4K (4096 x 2304) IPS Display].
- The refresh rate defaults to 30 Hertz, and only after restarting the computer am I able to adjust it to 60. If I go into System Preferences/Displays after waking the computer from sleep, there is no option to change the Herz. Only after restarting it can I change it, and even then it will not hold at 60. The monitor insists on defaulting to default resolution and 30 Herz. Horrible.
- Also, the display brightness is in constant flux, shifting constantly from 75% to 100%, back and forth. And it only stops when I go into System Preferences/Displays. Only then does the shifting stop. As soon as I leave Displays, it begins again. Nightmare.
- I do hope that someone from Apple will see this and rectify the problem. I am using a setup that came entirely from the Apple store [Mini | 22" LG | USB-C wire]. I'm sure this is a Monterey problem.
- Thank you.
