When Safari is opened, a message says there is an IOS security crash and I am to call 800 471 5250. I'm also told my data is transferring and adsafe-safari.com wants access to the camera.
Is this legitimate, or has my iPhone 12 been infected?
Apparently most everything but Safari works normally.

That's not normal. Sounds like some sort of hack. That's a known scam phone number.
Okay I got stung like everyone elf. To get safari to work, close down everything and then reopen click on Google then look up something. Then write down that number and block it. Finally delete your search history. Oh if you do them and call your bank and block the charge. Hope that helps

I am also facing this same type of issue in my iPhone and then it can automatically reset all the problems. This is why i love iPhone.
