How to take a Apple ID off a used iphone

I bought a phone off a friend and she never took off her Ex’s Apple ID and I’m having a hard time taking off the Apple ID is there a way to do this I don’t know the password. And I also reset the phone but the ID is still on.

You will never be able to activate and use that device. You must have the AppleID and password to sign that AppleID out. Without that, there is nothing you can do. Apple will not intervene for you as you do not have proof of original retail purchase and ownership.
