DVD+R not opening
I cannot play DVD+R copied on a Panasonic recorder. Is there something in the Apple Store that will open the disc?

DVD video format is standard so if the video plays on another device it is DVD format. The description t opens to Video_RM and Video_TS.
I would try using the VLC media player you can get here:
https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
Especially in the past there were problems with a DVD created on one writer can't be read on all DVD players. Same for different brand of disks.

Hi,
The icon shows on the screen. The computer says DVD player quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open application again.
I can click on it. It opens to Video_RM and Video_TS. It says ,"Search the App Store for an application to open the disc.
The DVD was finalized in the recorder DMR-ES45V. Not sure what mounted is? I'm using a USB Super Drive. Monterey OS
what happens when you try?
Can is the the DVD mounted? If you go to Finder can you browse the DVD?
You might have a hardware incompatibility problem
Since you can browse the DVD it is mounted.
Can you play other DVDs in this drive?
Will this DVD play on another drive not including the device that created it?
It is a "normal" video DVD?
Hi ,
Yes Netflix videos play on the Super Drive.
The DVD plays on a Toshiba DVD Video player/recorder connected to a TV monitor.
I copied a VHS tape of a high school play to a DVD+R. Maxell
There might be an application in the App Store that helps read the disc instead of Quick Time or can convert the file?
Thanks. I can now play the disc on my iMac!
