Keypad disappeared from my phone
My keypad disappeared. How do I get it back. Also phone will not turn off

Remove any add-on protective case, then quick-press volume up, quick-press volume down, then press and hold on the side-button until the iPhone shows the Apple logo and restarts. This is the forced-restart sequence for an iPhone 12.
