Input sources pop-up sometimes doesn't appear
I'm using the default keyboard shortcut (CTRL + Space) for changing input sources. As someone who swaps between at least 4 languages frequently, I enjoy the fact that when it works it presents me with a small pop-up with the list of languages that can stay on the screen for as long as I need it (for as long as I hold the key combo).
The way this pop-up works is when I press and hold CTRL + Space the pop-up stays on my screen and I can change between multiple layouts with the mouse / touchpad at my convenience, which is great!
My issue is that often this pop-up doesn't show up, and the only possible input source I can change to was the last one used. The only way I can tell is because the language changes in the menu bar while the pop-up doesn't show.
The only fix I have found so far is to go back into input settings and re-enable the shortcut, which obviously gets tiring.
For someone who works with multiple languages this is a frustration as I have to swap between languages very often. The difference between iOS and MacOS is that on iOS, the list at least remains consistent in order, so if I went with choosing Fn as my layout changing shortcut I could press 3x and know I land on a desired input source. On iOS, however you define the order of the languages that's how it's preserved, but on MacOS, to add insult to injury, the language order in the list always changes when you swap to another language from the last one used.
Does anyone encounter the same?
Note: I've seen this bug already before Monterey in BigSur at least.
