Printing and Scanning with Big Sur Canon MG7500 series

There is an existing question about this topic but it wouldn't let me add to it. With Big Sur, there are no drivers for this printer, unfortunately for those of us who still have working printers.

One of the answers suggested adding the printer with Air Print. This works for printing, but not for scanning. Several people suggested that a "scan" button would appear - it does not.

I tried hooking up the printer with both Bonjour as well as USB, and then using the Scan function on the printer itself. This too failed.

Do we have any other options available to us??

Why is there no driver for this perfectly functional printer/scanner, other than to get us to create more e-waste and buy more stuff to make more profits for the companies? It is infuriating.
