There is still data on a disk I erased to sell my iMac

I went through the steps to erase everything, but one step didn't really match up to the instructions. Now I'm not sure it's really wiped clean. The hard drive is showing 974,848 bytes used, and it says there are 35.8 MB purgeable. I'm not seeing any data anywhere but this concerns me. Any ideas?

Please follow the steps in What to do before selling or giving away your Mac , if you do all of your data will be wiped off the computer.
