Hi there Peter,

We'd like to team up with you to help look into what's happening with app-specific password.

As we're not quite sure what's happening exactly, we'd like to confirm the following:

  1. You mentioned adding 'Cardbook' to 'Thunderbird', but these sound like third-party apps. Is that right?
  2. As we recommend only using one Apple ID for your devices, what's the reason you have two different ones? The more details you provide, the better equipped we'll be to assist.
  3. Which Apple device/model are you using?

Cheers!

Thanks for your attention to my problem. I have solved it by completely uninstalling and deleting Thunderbird and the Cardbook add-on and reinstalling. As things turned out,the problem mush have been in Thunderbird and Cardbook (both third-party apps in this context) and not in iCloud. The second iCloud account was for testing purposes only and will be deleted later today. There are no problems with my iPhone or iPad. Thanks again for your prompt response to what must have appeared a very obscure problem.
