How long does it take to transfer information from the old Mac to the new

I am assuming that you are going to use Migration Assistant to do the data. Be sure to use a wired USB connection. The transfer should not take longer than 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the amount of data being transferred. I know that the instructions say you can use Wi-Fi for these transfers, but it is too slow and data corruption can occur. You do not want data corruption.
