Ran System Diagnostics, Now What?

I ran System Diagnostics via the Activity Monitor, and it created a folder, filled with all kinds of stuff I can't make heads nor tails of. How is this supposed to help me diagnose issues I'm having?

I'm experiencing times of extreme slowdown, typing is very, very slow, hesitates, puts letters in the wrong places, pages become non-responsive to mouse clicks, etc.

I thought something like this would possibly help, because when I run EtreCheck, it always tells me my system performance is good or excellent, which surprises me.

So how is anyone to make any sense from this voluminous report I've generated?

It's not. It is for Apple's software engineers to figure out what is going on.

Did AppleCare ask you to generate the diagnostics?

Post the Etrecheck report here.

It may say performance is good or excellent, but we may still be able to identify something that may be causing intermittent problems.

No, I don't think they did, but since they've not been of much help lately (& by lately, I mean the last few years), I figured I would do it, and hope for the best. If it's not for us to do, why is it shown as an option on the Activity Monitor? Just a tease, I guess.

So how do I get it to Apple's software engineers? And if it's an aid in figuring out what's not working right, why hasn't anyone from Apple, when they can't figure out what else to do, suggest I do this and send it in?

Or, to make is simple to generate when requested. You can also hold down about six different keys to generate the sysdiagnose. While I've never seen that option in AM, it sure sounds a lot easier.

So how do I get it to Apple's software engineers? And if it's an aid in figuring out what's not working right, why hasn't anyone from Apple, when they can't figure out what else to do, suggest I do this and send it in?

Call AppleCare or use the Support website to set up some sort of support with them.
