macbook air wont turn on

I have an old macbook air (bought in 2015) that no longer turns on. It's plugged in to the charger but pressing the power button doesnt do anything.

Any trouble shooting ideas, other than taking it to apple?

I held the power button down a few different lengths, up to 1 minute. there is no response
I'm not sure about its down time, probably less than 3 months
FYI, the charger light turned green after being plugged in for about 1 hour

I would say let it sit on power over night and then try
