Bose 700 headphones audio issue when paired to Macbook Air and iPhone

Hello!

I have an annoying, but minor issue. The Bose 700 headphones are paired to both my iPhone 13 and my Macbook Air m1.

In this situation I want to play music from my iPhone and my macbook is closed and asleep. When I turn the headphones on they connect to both devices and when I try to play music through spotify on the iPhone the audio doesn't play through the headphones.

When I check in the Bose app, it shows the Macbook Air as the current audio stream, even though the Macbook is closed and asleep.

Any idea how to resolve this?

My workaround now is to temporarily disable the macbook connection from the Bose app which just disconnects it entirely.

It seems like there is trouble playing music from the iPhone to the Bose headphones because a setting in the Bose app on the MacBook decided the audio stream. This seems isolated to the setting in the Bose app causing the issue. We would recommend you use this article for more information.

In the Bose app, after "connecting" to the headphones, select the Source option.

It should list all the sources that the headphones are connected to, from there you can toggle off particular sources. This only applies until the headphones are restarted, then they re-connect again.
