how should I turn off my firmware password if i cant turn on my laptop

My MacBook won't turn on so how am I supposed to turn off my firmware password?

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Firmware password I recently bout a box of old laptops and macs at a flea market , One of them is a Macbook Pro that does power up but it goes to a screen with a lock on it. I tried restarting and held down the command -R but it still goes to the screen with a big lock on it and a place to enter a password. What I have read online suggests a firmware password has been put on it.

Firmware password question... Is there a way I can make my macbook require the firmware password everytime I turn it on instead of only when booting from a seperate disk or accessing recovery mode?

I suggest you contact apple support. They should fix the problem that you are having with the MacBook not powering on.
