TurboTax 2021 doesn't download

First of all, I am running macOS Big Sur 11.2.3 and my hardware meets all of the system requirements.

I ordered, successfully, TurboTax 2021 last fall - receipt, order number, license number, the whole bit. I am now trying, unsuccessfully, to download the program.

I log on, go to my "Downloads" page, and there is "TurboTax Premier, Advantage, etc. for 2021" in a box at the top of the list, and selected. It shows that I have ordered and paid for it. All good so far.

There is a "Download" button in the lower right corner of the box. Sweet! When I click on it, the usual page asking where to put the download comes, so I select the spot and hit save. This takes me back to the download page and... nothing happens. Zip, zero, nada. When I click on the "Download" button, the cycle repeats - pick a location, hit save, back to the download page and nothing happens.

I have reached this download page through several routes including simply clicking on the link in the email receipt for my order and similarly clicking the one I was sent at the completion of the multi-step help process, both on line and over the phone. (At no time was there an option involving an actual person.) No matter the path, I always ended up at the download page repeating the cycle I described above.

I tried all the varieties of turning things off and on, quitting all other applications, etc. that were ubiquitous among the help suggestions. Doing so made no difference.

The only snippets of information that differed among the thirty or so sites from which I sought help were that one called my "Download" button "Download Now", and another said to double-click on the Download button.

The most maddening aspect of this situation, besides the situation itself, is that every single one of the suggested fixes or processes stopped at clicking on the "Download" button, Exactly zero had a subsequent line that began with "If it still won't download..." Zero. It's just like putting your money into a vending, selecting the two-pack of Reese's Peanut Butter cups, then nothing happens. You ask for help and everyone tells how to get to the machine, put your money in, and select the product. In the case of the vending machine though, you get to shake it, slam it against the wall, tip it and let it fall back - in general, beat the crap out of it. I don't even get that option here.

Sorry for the long message. I wanted to be as complete and specific as possible. And vent a little bit.
