MacBook Air changing to an older system

It seems that installing the Catalina System has clogged my MacBook Air so that it no longer works well and cannot access the cloud. So, returning to High Sierra has been recommended.

When I try to install High Sierra, will the Catalina System be eliminated in order to give me more processing power?

How to reinstall macOS – Apple Support (UK).

Use the Shift-Option-Command-R mention shown further down the page. Since you cannot downgrade macOS versions, you should install the version your Mac came with, and then upgrade as required to reach High Sierra. How to get old versions of macOS – Apple Support (UK) This page will also be very useful to you. Once you have reinstalled macOS (or you may even get Mac OS X), find out what version you’re running by going to the Apple Menu, then About This Mac, and then grab High Sierra from the link.
