How do I use quick start to transfer from old iPad to me one but not transfer my pictures

HI GlofromHR, an alternative you could consider is to download the photos before using Quick Start by going to iCloud.com, selecting the photos and download. You can then delete the photos on the iPad and use Quick Start.

Just be aware that if you have a large number of photos to download you should consider doing this in smaller chunks e.g. by dates?
