We have road works locally that are on my commuting route. Apple Maps shows the road as being closed even though it’s not. As a result it reroutes via a long detour which is just not necessary. I have submitted numerous reports including photographs showing the road is not closed but it is not being updated on maps. Why?
It can take several weeks for Map issues to be resolved.
report it again and again until they do something.
It is entirely possible that they are continuing to reroute intentionally so that it will limit the traffic in an area under construction/repair.
If you already know its to closed why would you get frustrated that maps is trying to send you around it? Maps always recalculates when I take a different road than the instructions provide.
I appreciate it can take several weeks but it has been several weeks and my reports show as already being reviewed. It seems they are just being ignored. This is one of the photos I sent of the supposed “closed road”.
Rerouting a major road through a tiny village that already gets used as a detour when the river floods and on tiny single lane roads? How considerate of them.
