atv plays music when I turn it on

when I turn on my tv when I get home from work music is playing. I have to turn on my tv with the old remote or the button on the tv itself, when I do the ATV wakes up and plays music. Thing is I don't have anything playing on my phone or laptop and I'm the only one on the wifi network.

how do I stop my ATV from playing music when I turn on the tv? why is it playing when I turn on TV and the ATV wakes up? I can't be the only one with this issue.

Do you have HomeKit automations or ‘scenes’ that involve music playback on Apple TV?

Create scenes and automations with the Home app - Apple Support

Apple TV would wake with the last used app open, or the home screen if that was the active screen when put to sleep. Is an audio or music app active when it wakes? The home screen might optionally play music previews if the Apple Music app is highlighted.

Could it be that your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch is set to automatically (continue) AirPlay music from a playlist or song list when it discovers an active speaker system that was previously used often for that? See Control Center on your mobile device.
