Face id Saying Move higher lower after ios update and not the first time its happened

so face id was working fine for years then the other day 15.2.1 ios update option popped up so i decided to do the update. and now it keeps saying move phone higher lower and wont register my face. I have tried factory reset also soft restart.

ps its not the first time this has happed my old iphone 11 pro did the same thing so i sold it and bought a xs but now this has same issue what is wrong with these update. these phones are not cheap Apple sort this problem out !!!
