MacBook not authorized to play my music

I have a MacBook Pro running OS 12.1. I also have thousands of songs in my iTunes music library, some are albums I downloaded from personal CDs years ago, others are albums and songs I purchased from iTunes. At some point, perhaps when I bought this MacBook 2 years ago, parts of my library lost their authorization to play. So today I tried to play some songs I had purchased several years ago and I got the message that they aren’t authorized to play on my computer. I reauthorized, and they still won't play. I've seen other people have this problem and the advice is to delete and redownload, but I have a large library and it would take me a month to figure out which songs/albums in my library need to be deleted and re-downloaded, plus some of this content is stuff I imported from CDs I owned. Is there a way to just across the board reauthorize my entire library?

Every time you reauthorize your library that should work across the board. The fact that it doesn't indicates specific issues with specific files, normally addressed by removing the download for the copy you have, and then redownloading a fresh one. It would be pointless to replace all your purchases, including ones that currently play, but leaves you with the manual task of checking them by hand. I suggest you make a playlist of your purchases and start testing methodically, you'll soon whittle it down.

Hey I just got off the phone with Support. Turns out in the new iTunes there is a way to blanket authorize or deauthorize a laptop for your entire iTunes library. Under iTunes --> Account --> Authorize or Deauthorize.

My problem was that it turned out I had 2 different Apple IDs associated with my iTunes library, which is why it wouldn't play some content. But the Support Advisor helped me figure it out.
