I remember some time back a poster said he made a wedding video for his friend's father's wedding. It was a second marriage. The former wife attended and iMovie unchangeably selected the former wife's photo for the movie's Poster Frame. Needless to say, that that poster wished that iMovie had a feature to change the poster frame. Maybe they'll bring it back.

Well then, that's the long and the short of it, so to speak. 😊
Thanks, folks. What's with that??? They're way to get you to use FCP?

The ??? might be the emoji that is shown in the email ,but not in the actual post,
.
Edit
The ??? shown in the email is in place of the emoji that is shown in the post .
Actually the ??? was in there to indicate how mystified I am that Apple did not include this feature that USED to be there. You emoji cane through just fine.
Actually, it would be great if iMovie had a feature that would allow for setting the Poster Frame. Unfortunately it doesn't. As you probably know, iMovie chooses a frame at the midpoint of the movie to set the poster frame. One way to change the poster frame is to insert a clip or rearrange or trim the clips, so that a frame in the midpoint of the movie is satisfactory. Or you can add a black background at the end of the movie to change the midpoint. Goofy, I know. But hopefully Apple will add the poster frame feature in a future iteration.
Sorry that the emogis translated to ??? on your email. I didn't realize that that could happen.
