In 2016 Samsung sold its printer business, including patents, to HP. Samsung printers are currently listed on HP's site. but HP is responsible and maybe they do not like to support older Samsung printers.

i agree, it's a low level irritant. BUT, Samsung have been talking about updating these drivers for too long now. I'm pretty sure my next printer will not be a Samsung.

I found that simply deleting the file solved the problem. It is here:

Macintosh HD/Library/Printers/Samsung/UPD/PDEs

Henry's fix also worked for me for a Xerox B210 printer (file was at /Library/Printers/Xerox/UPD/PDEs/BasicOptionPDE.bundle).

After wasting a week on my own trying various tricks… I called AppleCare but even they did not know to delete this. In a last ditch attempt, I searched the internets for BasicOpsionPDE.bundle and this came up. Thanks!
