Don't have permission to export GarageBand files
Hello all,
I am currently using my 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2019 on macOS Monterey v12.1
I have a 2TB external hard drive plugged into it, full of backups from my old 2009 MacBook Pro. I am pulling old GarageBand songs I made off the external so I can work on them and has ran into trouble with a single file. None of the others I have transferred have given me a problem until this one. The file is open in GarageBand on my 2019 machine, and everything inside it is there, all the audio I recorded back in 2016, ready to be exported as a .wav or .mp3 file depending on my plans for it. But when I go to "Song to Music" or "Export Song to Disk" I am met with an error message stating: "The file couldn't be saved because you don't have permission. To view or change permissions, select the item in the Finder and choose File > Get Info."
I made sure I did indeed have permission by going to the Get Info section of the file and my privilege is set to "Read & Write," but still no luck.
I poked around online a bit, and learned to give full disk access to GarageBand, which turns out I already had enabled. I toggled it off, then on again, locked the changes, and reopened the file, but ran into the same issue. I have copied & pasted the file off of the external into my laptop files and opened it there, no luck. Dragged and dropped from the external onto the desktop, no luck.
I can't seem to figure it out, does anyone have any suggestions for me?
