Hi rdc3, thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.
In addition to the above link you should also ensure you have the latest iPadOS update which is 15.2.1 as updates can resolve bugs and other associated issues with iPads. The following explains in more detail how to update.

If you are using Bluetooth with a third-party accessory please also look at the following link:

And sometimes it can be as simple as turning off and on the Bluetooth.
If the above does not help please explain in more detail what the specific Bluetooth issue is.

My problem was solved after I reinstalled the “Home” app on my phone. Apparently some of the communication between iPad goes through this app.
Confusing problem:
I used to be able to connect Apple fitness app on the iPad to my watch for workouts. Now the iPad doesn’t connect and says watch not available, although it is…available.
I’ve been told the iPad should be connecting through the phone to the watch. The iPad does not connect to my phone. They detect one another but don’t connect. My phone connects to everything fine.
The reset and turning on off didn’t work…
thanks
That is because the MacBook and the iPad are not designed to be connected via Bluetooth. What are you expecting to do by connecting the devices. Explain, as many of the tasks one expects does not require the devices to pair and connect, just to have Bluetooth turned on.
I have a brand new macbook and a brand new Ipad and they will NOT CONNECT with Bluetooth... I try and retry and retry but the **** things will NOT connect...
I do not expect this from apple... Have the latest updates on both laptop and Ipad caused this..???
What kind of Bluetooth connections. A reset may help, depending on what the problem is.
