They are all fast enough, especially if you’re a beginner.
A14 is newer, and faster than A13.
A15 is newer, and faster than A14.
M1 basically doubles the power, and is faster than A15.
You’ll be fine with an iPad 9th generation. Only important thing to consider is how much storage you want, this can only be configured at the time of purchase.

Oh OK. So iPad Pro (M1, 2021) is available with 8gb and 16gb configurations.
iPad Air (4th generation) comes with 4gb RAM, and so does iPad Mini (6th generation).
iPad (9th generation) comes with 3gb RAM.
iPadOS uses less RAM than macOS as a rule of thumb.
I wouldn’t advise buying an iPad Air (4th generation) at this time, since it is due an upgrade if you look at it’s specs. It’s lacking the A15, and the Centre Stage front facing camera.
At least in the UK, an iPad Pro 11”, is just a 30 quid upgrade from an iPad Air, so it’s a no brainer.
If you want to talk about accessories as well, do let me know.
I cannot imagine what “speed” means. “Speed” … of what?
Here are general iPad specs.
Memory? is this the indicator as to speed
Thank you. I believe what I had in mind is RAM. On my imac I have 8GB. (two 4GB).
