Hi,

10/25/21 macOS 12 CUPS and ICA drivers are mentioned at https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mg-series/pixma-mg2522 . Could these possibly be of interest?

As always, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files (documents, photos, et cetera) before testing anything.

Thank you for the report.

Looking at the date (10/25/21) for the MG2522/MG2525 CUPS Printer Driver Ver.16.40.1.0 (Mac) download (mcpd-mac-mg2500-16_40_1_0-ea21_3.dmg) and the driver details, it should be OK for macOS 12. However, you may have to contact Canon for additional information about compatibility with your exact operating system version.
