Startup efi error message when waking from sleep - hack?

Hello. Lately my mac (2012 MBP 13 - high sierra) shows this message really briefly when resuming from deep sleep. I was able to see what it said only by filming it and extracting a frame. My concern was that my efi have been hacked somehow, but I have nothing to support that claim, apart from persistent fan activity.

Can someone tell me if it's normal?

There is also one more line that didn't fit in the view that says 'End ConnectDisplay'

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
