My iPad is charging my portable charger

I have an iPad Air 4th generation, and a t-core portable charger. I recently got my iPad and was glad to see there was a space to charge on the charger. When I tried charging it I was disappointed to see the iPad was charging the charger. I have tried multiple things including switching which end goes in first and in what order. I have not been successful yet. If you know how to solve this problem please let me know.

We'd like to help by ruling out a few things from your iPad's end first:

From your post, we see you have iPadOS 15, but the latest is iPadOS 15.2.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't tried one yet, this link shows how to Restart your iPad.
We recommend testing other accessories to see if they work without any issues, like a regular charger as one example.

If the issue remains, and as this is a third-party accessory, we recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of the accessory to look into why this may be happening, along with checking things like compatibility. Cheers!

If plugging the USB-C cable into the portable charger first, before plugging it into your iPad, last, doesn’t work, that definitely is strange, I’ll say that.
