Indoor cycling not recognised automatically on Apple Watch

when I walk or swim and forget to start activity my watch recognises it. An hour indoor bike and it says I’ve done zero exercise. Why is this

Does your watch hand move when you do indoor cycling?.

Because GPS is not being used the watch relies on its motion detector and accelerometer sensors to detect when you are moving/exercising,if it can't detect any movement then it sees nothing to record.
