Audible.co.uk authorisation

I have recently carried out a re-install of my current operating system mac OS 10.11.06. Since then I have been unable to play or download Audible books on iTunes. This was no problem before my reinstall. It appears to be about authorisation of my macbook. Audible are unable to assist and consider this an apple problem. I'm at a loss!
