How much damage invalidates trade in? Pics attached

You have the option to have the phone evaluated by the trade-in agency that Apple uses. If, after they review it, they determine that it has no trade-in value, you are offered to either have it shipped back to you (at no cost) or they will recycle it.

No one here, no matter what you tell us, can make that determination.

Not sure where you’re located and what model that is since an iPhone 8 and 2nd gen SE are similar. But I tried the United States trade in estimator for the SE, and as soon as I entered that the body wasn’t in good condition (which is clearly the case) the answer I got was that it was ready for recycling.

You might be able sell it privately to someone who might be willing to take a chance since it still works or for salvage parts.

There are pieces missing from the glass case and the inside is exposed. Also the front glass is clearly damaged. Unfortunately the damage to the case alone would likely zero out the trade in value.

I wouldn't take it as a trade in.

It has significant damage to the case and screen.

Since none of us are employed by the company who handles the trade in, we can't give you a definite answer.
