How much damage invalidates trade in? Pics attached

Hello,

I looked at trading in my iPhone but the information is quite vague with what constitutes a "major crack" or screen damage. I've attached pics of my phone, it does have a crack at the back and one on the screen. Alth9ough it doesn't affect the usage of the phone. Aside from that it works perfectly.

There are pieces missing from the glass case and the inside is exposed. Also the front glass is clearly damaged. Unfortunately the damage to the case alone would likely zero out the trade in value.

Yes it's an iPhone 8.

  • It turns on and functions normally
  • All the buttons work
  • The cameras work
  • The body is free of dents and scratches
  • The touchscreen and back glass are undamaged

I select no due to the stratch on the front.

Next question is:

  • It’s free of major cracks, chips and scratches
  • If there’s glass on the back, it’s not shattered

What's classed as shattered or a major crack? If I say it doesn't have that it's £70 but recycle without

Not sure where you’re located and what model that is since an iPhone 8 and 2nd gen SE are similar. But I tried the United States trade in estimator for the SE, and as soon as I entered that the body wasn’t in good condition (which is clearly the case) the answer I got was that it was ready for recycling.

You might be able sell it privately to someone who might be willing to take a chance since it still works or for salvage parts.
