Delete an app and also documents and data

I have an iPhone 8, and the software v15.2. I've searched the net on how to delete apps no longer wanted, and also to delete documents and data. However, when I go to General-Settings-iPhone Storage, then the app I want to delete, there is no further option to do anything. Only gives the App Name, App Size, and Documents & Data - no further options, swipe, click does nothing. I'd appreciate some advice! Thank you!!!

Hellozilchzee,

It sounds like you are having trouble deleting apps on your iPhone.

Here are some resources that can help:

Review Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch for information on how to delete apps.

If you don't have any parental controls and you are trying to delete on Apple apps or Apple apps you are able to delete, check to see if you have any profiles in Settings > General > Profiles or Profiles & Device Management. These are sometimes installed on company or school devices. If this is the case, you may want to reach out to the IT administrator for assistance.

  • Note: If you don't see this option in Settings, then no device management profiles are installed on your device.

Hope this information helps.

Have a good day.

If you read the Delete apps on your iPhone link provided, it would have explained it to you. You delete from the home screen, then you need to delete the app from the App Library. Go back to the App Library on the iPhone, locate the app in question and perform the same steps. It should give you the option to delete it from the device. If it does not, then you need to check Restrictions.

Check Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes and App Store Purchases > make sure Deleting Apps is Allowed.

Also note: Content & Privacy Restrictions must be enabled to see and make changes.

Just remember that not all apps can be deleted from the iPhone. Some built-in apps that come as part of the iOS cannot be deleted.

This did not solve my situation, but thanks for the reply. I want to completely remove apps from my phone, and hold down on one that's on my home screen only gives the option to remove from the home screen, it does not offer a delete from my phone option.

In General - iPhone Storage - then scrolling down, there are apps shown with their GB size that I no longer use and want to remove, FitBit as an example. 243 MB, I want to remove the app completely from my phone and take the docs and data with it. If I click on FitBit under iPhone storage, I only see the size of the App and the size of the Data - no option to remove from my iPhone here. So, I'm looking for the path to remove the app and take the 243MB with it.

Hope this further helps you offer a solution. Thanks!
