New Apple ID verification

I've set up a new Apple ID so I can publish a podcast. I've succesfully entered the code on the verification email and succesfully set up a means of payment. This was about 5 hours ago now.


However, when I try and set up Apple Podcasts Connects I keep getting this error message:


Activate your Apple ID

You need to finish activating your Apple ID before you can use it on Apple

Podcasts Connect. For more information, check our support article on

creating an Apple Podcasts Connect account.


I'm going round in circles and it's driving me CRAZY that something so simple should be so unnecassarily complicated! Please help!

Thanks Roger, really appreciate your reply and advice. In the end I dug out an old iPad and set it up with the new Apple ID. This triggered a request to accept the T&Cs which is what I believe was holding the whole process up.


Apple, if you read this, please sort! It's a ridiculous waste of time and energy (my own and the planets!) caused by the ever decreasing circles of frustration trying to sort something so simple.

This has been a problem for some people. You must have a payment method registered in Apple Music/iTunes: make sure your computer is authorised to play purchases (Apple Music or iTunes menu Account>Authorisations>Authorise this Computer). Then try logging in at https://podcastsconnect.apple.com


If this fails I would suggest reporting it Podcasts Support. Go to Apple Podcasts for Creators and click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page.


If that fails the next step is to contact Apple Support: https://getsupport.apple.com


Don't present this as a podcasting problem - they don't handle those and will refer you to Podcasts Support (or give you an inaccurate answer judging by some people's experience). Present the problem as being the inability to access Podcasts Support. It's also been suggested that getting them to look at your Apple ID may clear matters.
