MBP M1 2021: Camera stops working

Removed Kaspersky and it worked. Great tip! Reinstalled Kaspersky and removed switch under Privacy that blocked all webcams, which I probably enabled without connecting the brain properly 😬

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, your MacBook Pro M1 2020 camera isn't working properly.

Given the information in your post, we'd recommend to disable the Kaspersky Antivirus software, reboot the Mac normally and test it out.

You tested the issue in safe mode and the camera worked fine. We'd say this software may be blocking the camera from these apps.

I agree with destiny241, you need to eliminate (delete) antivirus from your Mac.

Unlike Microsoft Windows, Macs don’t have viruses.

If you’re still having issues, then eliminate Chrome (another awful app) responsible for countless support issues we face here in the community.
