Maps keeps crashing upon program launch

Hi,

My Apple Maps program attempts to launch and "quit unexpectedly". Any thoughts on what caches to begin clearing? Error log attached to question.

There have been several crashes, very possibly related to the Major Issues discussed.

I suggest you start your mac in Safe Mode. It is slow; that is normal. It will clear system caches, which may have become corrupted.

Test to see if Maps opens in Safe Mode.

Then restart normally and test again.

This stands out immediately:

Major Issues:

Anything that appears on this list needs immediate attention.

Battery failure - Your battery is reporting that it needs to be serviced.

Low disk space - This computer is running critically low on free hard drive space.

You have only about 11GB free - there is no surprise that the system is crashing.

Your mac needs space on the system drive to function, and you don't have any, essentially.

Make space, at least some 10-15% free on the system drive.

The battery failing can also have an impact. Your system may still work when connected to power, but it is still a potentially dangerous thing, and can cause crashes.

I will look at the rest of the report later today.

Thanks, I agree with those things you are saying, as they were identified in the Major Issues section of EtreCheck. Even after clearing 10% of disk space and keeping my computer plugged to power, Maps does not open.

Has anyone else had this problem? Some direction I thought would help, but have no experience in doing.

Clear Maps app cache?

Re-install Maps without an OS reinstall?
