Apple Maps app not loading any map data

Thanks for the update.

I guess it now falls to standard software troubleshooting to see where the issue is.

Try booting into Safe Mode to see if that works or repairs anything.

It can show you if startup items may be causing an issue and cleans up some caches, etc.

If that helps, test again with a normal boot.

If still not working, test under a different macOS user to see if it's still an issue with your account or a system wide issue.

Howdy,

I thought I was seeing the same thing with El Capitan. I saw just a grid with no maps.

I tried the Satellite view (upper right) and it actually loaded the Globe.

I zoomed in and was able to see the satellite view of my neighborhood.

Switched to Map view and it still worked.
