Apple Watch update not working

I got a second hand Apple Watch. When I try to pair it. It goes into pairing mode but then tell me that an update is available So Update the Watch OS or exit the setup. If I click update it takes too long to go into another mode where it says “Cannot update the Apple Watch because you are not connected to internet”. Doesn’t matter how many times I try this, I get the same results every time. By the way I have done everything like resetting my network settings, airplane mode enable and disable basically everything. But It doesn’t connect to my Apple Watch Series 1. What should I do?
