Storage on MacBook Air - large documents folder - is this a dropbox problem?

Hi,

for an OS update on my wife's MBA, I had to free up storage space. One way to do this was to temporarily unsync the dropbox folders.

Nevertheless, the system still shows almost 40GB Documents.

When I check the dropbox folder, it appears empty

When I look up the 'Get Info' for the dropbox folder, it says "39.74GB for one item"....

Is this a dropbox issue or a Mac Issue? How do I resolve it?

Hi  karcher.cc,

It sounds like you're trying to clear out storage on your computer. We're happy to offer some guidance.

You can find a basic guide for managing your storage here: Free up storage space on your Mac

When it comes to actually deleting documents from the computer, you just simply click and drag the files you want to remove to the Trash in the dock. Once you've finished moving items to the Trash, right-click or Control-click the trash icon and select Empty Trash.

If you delete a bunch of files it's also a good idea to give the computer a restart after you have emptied the Trash.

Hope this helps. Cheers!
