iCloud Private Relay and "Limit IP Address Tracking" - Disable via configuration profile

Hi,

since macOS Monterey, we're facing some real trouble with network connectivity. Not only on our corporate network, but also people working from home are complaining about this.

We already narrowed that down to iCloud Private Relay. Network works fine when Private Relay is disabled and "Limit IP Address Tracking" is disabled in Network preferences as well as in Safari and Mail.

I've found a configuration profile to disable Private Relay (https://www.macblog.org/posts/how-to-disable-icloud-private-relay/) via MDM. This works, however, this doesn't uncheck the "Limit IP Adress Tracking" checkbox in Network Preferences. So this alone doesn't fix our connectivity issues.

Is there a way to disable Private Relay and all corresponding IP address obfuscation services, either via MDM or via command line/script? This is a serious issue in our business environment.

Hey robimacify,

It appears you're wondering if there is a way to disable Private Relay with MDM or a command line for devices for a business. Check out this resource, as it might be helpful: Apple Platform Deployment - Apple Support

If the issue continues, you can see how to get support for Apple device deployments here: AppleCare support for Apple device deployments - Apple Support

Best wishes.
